Great job on this paper Tylar! In my opinion BLM has truly lost site of their primary objective and purpose and has become more popularity driven. The BLM Movement thrives off of the momentum they gain from ONLY police brutality related violence and not black-on-black violence. We are tearing apart our own communities with the daily violence we inflict upon each other, and I have never heard of or seen BLM taking any type of active stance or utilize their platform to stop the violence against each other, or to help bring the community together to help solve any of the senseless murders that happen in our communities daily. No person deserves to die during an encounter with the police if they don’t present a direct threat towards an Officer or members of the community, but we also can’t continue to make excuses for the actions of those that create hostile encounters with the police. Again, there are some incidents where there is absolutely NO excuse for the officers deadly force which tarnishes the oath officers take, while other officers who genuinely care about the community and want to make a difference in society suffer. I encourage you Tylar and anyone reading to be apart of the necessary change to help bridge the gap that exists between police and the community.
