For 20 years, One World Education has helped students discover the power of their voices through writing. As we celebrate this milestone, we’re reflecting on the people and stories that have shaped One World—and looking ahead to what the next 20 years can make possible.

Over two decades, One World has grown from a single classroom into a citywide writing program reaching thousands of students and educators.
As we celebrate 20 years of impact, we’re investing in the next 20.
Through The Writing Home Project, One World is raising $250,000 by June 30, 2027 to secure a stable, long-term home for our programs—and create the space we need to reach more students in the years ahead.
A long-term home will allow us to expand the One World Academy, provide greater continuity for students and educators, and create a dedicated space for writing, learning, publishing, and community.
The Writing Home Project is more than a new space. It’s an investment in One World’s future, and in the thousands of student voices still to come.
