One World provides teachers and students everything they need to succeed, delivering two complementary programs to advance writing achievement with middle school, high school, and adult learners. In the fall, our in-school One World Program provides teachers with professional development, curriculum, student journals, and evaluation to help students to create college-level essays.

In the spring, our after-school One World Academy provides direct student support from teachers and performance artists to help select middle and high school students build their essays into persuasive oral presentations for a chance to win $10,000 in awards at the One World Challenge.

Middle and High School

In School

During the fall, the One World Program teaches basic skills – every step of the writing process – while also drawing out students’ innate potential and brilliance.

After School

In the spring, we provide select students with the chance to work with us at our One World Academy to turn their stellar essays into compelling oral presentations. Students then present their work to more than 300 community leaders, educators, and family members while competing for $10,000 in scholarships and academic prizes at the One World Challenge.

Adult learners use a customized version of the One World in-school program throughout the year. One World now serves more than 1,500 adult learners, working with all of the city’s largest programs.
