Homelessness is a severe problem in America as Simeon eloquently stated. Severe medical problems are rampant in this population! Chronic medical problems go untreated and more prevalent problems such as heart disease, hypertension, and diabetes lead to more complications. Providing permanent housing and healthcare for homeless people does save taxpayers money! This leads to less frequent hospitalizations, shorter police intervention, and decreased incarcerations. This topic is so timely during the Pandemic. Problem needs to be solved…there are means to eradicate homelessness!! Well done Simeon Waller!!

All things considered…I want to sincerely congratulate all of the participants on a job well done. However, as a third generation DC resident, the issue of homelessness in the DC area has been and still is a local thorn in the side of this area. Furthermore, the mental health instability associated with this issue is also alarming and sorely underrated as well as overlooked. As Simeon pointed out per statistics there are rational and potential ways to curb this unfortunate but realistic situation with the appropriate financial support.
This was a great insight on the homelessness issues that we are faced with in the United States. You did a fantastic job, stay focused, reach high and continue to set your goals high. Congrats! I can see your contribution to homelessness.

Living here in Philadelphia I see the homeless on a daily basis. I love to see our youth take part in finding solutions to help. Their input is just as important as the adults. The children are the future.
