Actor Mark Ruffalo once said, “Climate change is the greatest threat to our existence in our short history on this planet. Nobody’s going to buy their way out of its effects.” Picture this: a world where summers are hotter than usual, winters are uncertain, and the animals you love are losing their home. These are some of the impacts of global warming, a major factor in climate change. Global warming is the increase of temperature in the world’s atmosphere. It is a serious issue mainly caused by human activities. These activities include burning fossil fuels, deforestation, and releasing greenhouse gases into the air, trapping heat and leading to global warming. A quick and easy way to prevent global warming is by moving away from fossil fuels and changing to renewable energy sources like solar and wind power. Governments have a crucial role. Climate change can change weather patterns; it can also raise sea levels and cause species loss. Climate change can worsen air quality and lead to a higher chance of heat-related and infectious diseases due to the change in weather patterns altogether. Global warming is a serious issue that impacts many people’s lives and needs to be advocated for quickly.

“Global warming refers to the increase in the planet’s overall average temperature in recent decades. These rapid changes are due to human activities and the widespread use of fossil fuels for energy.” Climate change has a detrimental impact on the environment. Some of the ways that climate change can negatively impact the environment are sea level rise, droughts, wildfires, and flooding.” This is how global warming can affect our world. To sum it all up, there are increased temperatures from global warming, which can cause wildfires to start more easily. Additionally, the warmer temperatures and changes in the weather will affect the patterns over time. Have you ever experienced one of the aforementioned effects? When students hear about global warming and know that it affects the world’s atmosphere by making it warmer, they might think that it is good because it brings warmer temperatures to the earth’s surface; however, Global warming is harmful.

There are a number of ways in which global warming can be prevented. One of the ways is finding better energy sources such as solar and wind. According to NRDC, “We must replace coal, oil, and gas with renewable and efficient energy sources. Thankfully, with each passing year, clean energy is making gains as technology improves and production costs go down.” “Additionally, we can reduce our reliance on fossil fuels, which are the primary contributors to greenhouse gas.” This means finding a better source is a crucial step to having a more sustainable lifestyle. Investing in renewable energy sources, like solar and wind, also shows that it can help move away from fossil fuels and reduce greenhouse gases significantly.

It should be clear by now that climate change is causing extreme different weather patterns. Climate change effects include melting glaciers, rising seas, and flooding. All of the aforementioned effects are threatening human civilization and the future of the Earth. We must immediately avert an environmental disaster and protect our world! With urgency, we can still impede this drastic impact, but time is running out, so move rapidly!
