A Letter to Students
Meet the Community of OWEd Student Ambassadors
If you have gotten this far in the website you realize that One World Education is different. All One World Education Reflections you read are written by teenagers like you. We want to capture the knowledge and learning of middle and high school students as they explore and learn about our world. Then we return these reflections back to classrooms through resources your teachers will use in class. Whether you have explored something important in your own neighborhood, city or country, or something important in another place, your experiences can help teach other young people about our world. While normally in school you learn about culture and global issues from the view of adults and textbooks, One World Education allows you to learn from teenagers your age, as well as allowing you to share your views with students in other classrooms. Students and teachers have asked us what students can discuss and write about in their reflections. Great Question! What’s important to young people in one area may also be important to young people in other places. Teenagers are volunteering in places like inner-city shelters, exploring other countries and connecting with each other through different programs all over the world. One World Education wants you to share your reflections about these topics and more. When we accept your submission, you join our One World Student Ambassador community. All One World Student Ambassadors build their own profile page so other students can learn about our authors. Remind yourself and others of the power teenagers can have in teaching and addressing real and important issues. One World Education’s submission overview will help you draft your reflection to become a published writer and One World Student Ambassador. Explore, Learn, Share, Teach... One World Education 2010
