One World Writing Program

The One World Writing Program consists of 2-3 week units that teach students to produce exemplary writing about cultural and global issues that are important to them through a series of reading, research, revision, and editing exercises.  Students submit their writing through OWEd’s website, and selected student writing is published with Common Core State Standards-aligned Curriculum.  For teachers, the program addresses every middle and high school Common Core Literacy Anchor Standard.

The One World Writing Program offers middle and high school Writing Units for the three genres of common core writing:

Each Writing Unit includes:

  • In-school professional development
  • Detailed lesson plan that aligns each step to a Common Core State Standard
  • Writing Notebooks that track student work, progress, and assessments
  • Evaluation of student work and growth in the core literacy skills
