All One World Units

  • In this unit, students will gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of the world's rainforests through research, discussion and persuasive writing. With an eye towards sustainability, students will discover industry foresting practices and individual choices that help protect this irreplaceable resource.

  • Through interviews, surveys, and family research, students will gain a better understanding of what courage and sacrifice mean within the context of Michael's Reflection and within their own family. Students also investigate how families function and the many different (and changing) faces of the family unit.

  • This Cyber Bullying Unit asks students to explore Tanith's relection and make connections about online harassment to thier own lives and experiences. Student practice taking a proactive approach to positive messaging and maintaining a safe online presence.

  • Laila's Reflection investigates how the media in the US stereotypes Muslims in a negative light. Laila writes about her own experiences as a Muslim-American and her hopes for a more accurate media portrayal of her culture and religion.   • In Yoni's Reflection he explores religion, faith, and identity in one of the world's holiest religious centers.  Follow his journey as he encounters the power of faith in peoples' lives, and the challenges of religious tolerance in Israel.
