Corey Carroll serves as an Instructor at Latin American Youth Center Career Academy, Adult Public Charter School in Washington DC, where he teaches English and History to students ages 16-25 earning a GED. In the same capacity, Corey creates and implements curriculums, workshops, and specialized interventions structured to improve the social and emotional intelligence of his students and clients. In 2021, Corey was awarded One World’s Teacher of the Year for his efforts in increasing awareness and readiness in argumentative writing throughout Washington, DC. Close to his heart, Corey is the founder of the blog CarrollCares.org and podcast Unpacked: Exploring Traumas Through Community, where both modalities strive to create brave spaces for people to be authentic, courageous, and vulnerable around different experiences to create a better version of themselves.
