The author of this article weighs in on the need to have the death penalty for extreme and outrageous crimes including the crime Dylan Roof committed when he murdered nine African Americans while they were praying at church. It is addressed that the death penalty should not be a regular form of punishment because it is disproportionately given to African Americans. For someone who commits an outrageous act, however, the death penalty should be considered.
