2017 Student Ambassadors

Student Ambassadors and Published Writing

One World Education believes that students should write to be read, in addition to earning a grade. At the conclusion of the One World Cornerstone, teachers nominate up to two students per school whose Argumentative Reflections meet all of the requirements listed below. These students are honored as Student Ambassadors at a celebration in the spring after attending Writing Workshops, where they meet with mentors to refine their writing toward publication.

Each year, we select and publish the top exemplary writing from Student Ambassadors in order to model grade-level writing and to create a forum for peer-to-peer learning. Additionally, every student-authored essay is accompanied by a Reflection Experience, which is a series of content and reading comprehension assessments available on our website.

Nomination Requirements for Student Ambassadors:

  1. Completed One World Journal and an essay that scores at least a 55/60 (Exemplary) on the Argumentative Reflection Rubric in the One World Journal.

  2. Interest in refining their work toward publication.

  3. Ability to attend the Student Ambassador Orientation and Writing Workshops, on March 9 and March 30 from 5-7pm at the Shaw Library.

  4. Self-driven students who will strive to improve their writing toward publication with the help of our writing mentors.

Please complete this student nomination and submit their essay to One World Education.
